Christmas is coming early with Frito-Lay’s new campaign aimed at capturing those giddy pre-kickoff feelings.
The snack food brand’s “‘Twas the Night Before Kickoff” campaign is meant to recapture the same childlike excitement that many felt before the holidays through a retelling of the original Christmas classic.
The headline campaign features a roster of current and former NFL stars, such as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, Tony Romo, Ezekiel Elliott, Marshawn Lynch, and more who provide narration to the modern retelling.
The spot is directed by Peter Berg, who also directed the critically acclaimed movie, “Friday Night Lights.”
“This year, the return of the NFL matters more than ever. America is looking for a sense of normalcy, and the return of one of the country’s largest cultural events is sure to provide that joy,” said Rachel Ferdinando, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Frito-Lay North America.
In addition to the creative spot, the campaign will also feature new FanTrack bags, which feature team logos, and motion-activated speakers, and much more.
This year’s kickoff is scheduled for September 10.
