Actress and producer Tessa Thompson joins Armani Beauty as the brand’s newest face. She joins the line-up of celebrity brand ambassadors including Cate Blanchett, Ryan Reynolds, Barbara Palvin, and more.
For her Armani Beauty debut, she will appear in campaigns for both the brand’s iconic Luminous Silk foundation, which comes in 40 colors to suit every skin tone, and the newest Lip Power lipstick, which is a longwear satin-finish lipstick that delivers vivid color with all-day wear. The lip product’s unique drop-shaped bullet allows for ease of application and precise lines.
Giorgio Armani said, “my idea of beauty applies to every woman as it enhances her personality and uniqueness.” The Armani founder added, “Tessa Thompson struck me with the radiant energy she exudes, the vibrant calmness of her way of being. I am delighted to be able to work with her and express a new facet of the feminine kaleidoscope of Armani beauty.”
The “Creed” star was as pleased to announce the news, sharing in her Instagram post, “So thrilled to say — after years of using @armanibeauty — I’m so proud to become one of their global ambassadors. It’s truly surreal to represent a brand I’ve always admired. I can’t wait for you to see what we are creating together.”
Thompson first gained mainstream recognition in her early performances in comedy-drama “Dear White People” and Oscar-nominated “Selma,” where she played Diane Nash, a civil rights activist against racism and institutionalized segregation. She also received significant praise for her roles in “Men in Black: International”, Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls,” and science fiction series “Westworld.”
Thompson played Valkyrie in “Thor: Ragnarok” in 2017 and in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019. She will appear as that character again in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” due out later this year.
In 2019, Thompson was on the cover of TIME magazine as the Leader of the Next Generation. In 2020, she co-starred in “Sylvie’s Love,” which she executive produced and where she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Thompson has most recently won acclaim for her role as Irene Redfield in the period film “Passing,” released in November 2021 on Netflix.
In partnering with Armani Beauty, Thompson shares how the collaboration makes her connect to the brand personally. “I love that there’s such a range of colors,” she tells Armani Beauty. “It feels like Armani really acknowledges that we don’t all fit in one bottle, that beauty comes in all shades.”
