Zakiya Larry joins Stagwell collective as global chief communications officer

Constellation, the Stagwell collective that is home to Crispin Porter Bogusky (CPB), 72andSunny and Brand Citizens, appoints Zakiya Larry as global chief communications officer as the network expands and bolsters business offerings. She joins the leadership team with John Boiler, chair of Constellation and creative co-chair of 72andSunny, and Chief Financial Officer John Pyne.

In her new role, Larry will develop and lead a comprehensive communications strategy – both internal and external – for the global collective that will guide business goals and elevate work and client experience. As global chief communications officer, she will oversee the operations of media relations, corporate responsibility, social media, crisis, business and executive communications and live event productions. Her role will also include oversight of strategic communications planning and execution for Constellation’s group of agencies and businesses.

The 20-year communications veteran was the founder and CEO of Quest Media Training (Quest), a strategic communications firm that provides coaching for media and public speaking, crisis management, strategic messaging and public relations services. An entrepreneur and brand strategist, she elevates brands through media coaching and strategic positioning.

Larry has managed publicity for many New York Times bestsellers and blockbuster hits including “Jumping the Broom,” “Sparkle,” and “Heaven is For Real,” and coordinated productions for Oprah Winfrey and Roland Martin. Her contributions have been recognized by leading industry organizations. She has received both national and international awards including the International Hermes Creative Awards, National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and multiple Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards.
