Taco Bell is set to begin a new chapter in its history with a landmark transition of leadership. Sean Tresvant, the current global chief brand and strategy officer, will step into the role of CEO on January 1, 2024, marking his tenure as the first Black CEO of the popular fast-food chain.

Both Tresvant and outgoing CEO Mark King have shared heartfelt messages regarding the transition. Tresvant spoke highly of King, acknowledging his indelible contributions to the brand: “There is no ‘replacing’ Mark King. His impact on the Taco Bell Brand, business, and culture has left its mark… no pun intended.”

King reciprocated with a powerful endorsement of Tresvant, highlighting his unique approach to creativity and vision for the company’s future. King noted, “Taco Bell dreams big, which is the reason I took this job in the first place and the reason why Sean is the right leader to take on the role.”

Tresvant, who has been instrumental in shaping Taco Bell’s global strategy, has expressed his eagerness to continue building on the brand’s legacy.
